PASUMA DROPS ARABAMBI TITLE, SAYS ‘I WANT TO BE ON MY OWN BUT ITS A PITY MY RANGE ROVER’

Fuji music star, Ajibola Pasuma has dropped his Arambambi’s Fuji clan’s title and he wants to be addressed as OGANLA-1 henceforth. The Arambambi clan spurred from Fuji music lord, KI de Ultimate who is fondly addressed as the paramount head of the Arambambi’s family worldwide. The title suggests those who are loyal to K1 de Ultimate and recognize his leadership of the clan. Pasuma, in an exclusive interview with E24-7 MAGAZINE’S BIODUN KUPOLUYI in his Omole, Ikeja, Lagos home spoke on why he has to carve a niche for himself by dropping the title and create a new lineage of Fuji music followers.

I reliably gathered that you have changed your title from Arabambi to Oganla-1? It is not about changing title. I thought that this is the right time for me to be on my own as in, standing on my feet. I’m still loyal to K1 de Ultimate. He is still the head of the Fuji musicians. He is still the King of Fuji, so I believe in that and I’m still loyal to him but I thought this is the right time for me to be on my own because, let me put it say this, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde was Ayinde Barrister before he changed his name to Marshall. So we can see like Sule Alao was formerly Tekoye before he changed it to Malaika and Taye Pasuma in Ibadan changed his name to Taye Currency. So I thought this is the right time for me to carve a niche for myself and it’s not conceived to be rude to him, or we parted in conflict, no, I’m still loyal to the Arabambi family, let’s say the Oganla family and Oganla 1 comes from out from the Arabambi family.

So how do you want to be addressed now? I want to be addressed as Oganla1, Oganla 1, you can say it is still under the umbrella of the Arabambi family but I’m Oganla-1.

Why did you join the Arabambi clan, what can you say you benefitted from the clan? I joined because I did not want any fight among Fuji musicians, I did not want a situation whereby, everybody will turn their back against Wasiu Ayinde and a situation whereby all Fuji musicians will sleep and turn our heads towards one direction. I thought okay, when every one of you was fighting this guy, what is the essence? What is the problem you guys have with this man called K1 de Ultimate, so let me go, get closer and check because I love K1 de Ultimate. It is not about gift or money but I have loved Wasiu Ayinde since I was in the secondary school. Then he released one song titled Talazo 84. Then I decided if somebody can do an album, a widely accepted album like this, I can do better than him. I have that I can do spirit in me and that album fired it up. So I can just say he was the one that inspired me to be a Fuji musician so I love him and the love is natural. It’s not about the Arabambi’s caucus; it’s just about the love for him that made me to stay with him since. Sincerely speaking I gained much because there are some people that love Pasuma because we are together, they love K1. There are some fans of K1 that because Pasuma is Arabambi 2, they love Pasuma so that’s the only thing I gained from the clan. It’s not about giving me money, or giving K1 money, no, but musically, it has been mutually beneficial.

Ok, do you think those people who actually appreciated you and supported you because you were Arabambi 2, would like your fresh move? I have my own fans before I joined the Arabambi caucus and K1 has his own fans. So my fans, accepted the new title that suggested I want to be on my own. Immediately, I said okay, it’s not about fight or quarrel. I just want to be on my own so my fans accepted it.

When did you announce this? It was recently at a show, I have mentioned it in like three or four shows, but the show that brought the issue to limelight was at Toyin Akindele’s hotel in Lagos Island.

Did you consult him before you changed your name? I don’t think I really need to do that. I’m not a small boy. I’m a man on my own, responsible for my actions. I don’t have to consult K1 de Ultimate before I choose to stand on my own feet, so I thought when the CD comes out or the hullabaloo is everywhere, I know he is going to hear about it or they give him the CD or watch the video, he will listen to what I sang in there. It’s not about being rude, no, I did not abuse him. It is something that is just unfolding and it is normal.

How do you think he is going to receive this? Let’s see what will happen. We will wait and see. I don’t know what to say now or I don’t know what will happen , so I can’t predict his reaction. I’m waiting for his response and I know he is going to take it lightly because it is not about quarrel or me abusing him.

What about your fans, how did they receive it? They take it, they love it, some of them that have access to me, called my phone; they have called me and said, ‘Yea, Pasuma, congratulations.’ Some of them that did not have access to my phone went on Twitter and they commented “that is what they have been waiting for.” If K1′s fans love it, fine. But I have my own fans and followers before we joined each other in Arabambi. I can’t grab K1′s fans and add them to mine. So I have my fans and he has his own. So I am dealing with my fans.

There are fears that this might lead to another rift in Fuji community? No, it’s not going to happen. It’s only when some Fuji artistes want to use this opportunity to start another problem again that is why I emphasized in the song, that I am not abusing K1. I’m not been rude to this man. If you are loyal to somebody, there will be a day that you will say, ok, you want to be on your own. Now, I want to be on my own so anybody shouldn’t take this as a chance to cause problems.

Now, can you give us insight into some people you have in Oganla? Hmmm, I don’t know yet buy my boy, Sharafa Adigun, has already started calling himself Aremo Oganla and this boy, Alawiye has started calling himself, Oganla Islamic. He was Arabambi Islamic before. I called him Taye Currency Arabambi 3 recently and he said I should stop it, that he is Oganla-2 and I said no problem. Taye is currently in Dubai at the moment but he will soon come back. But he said his name now is Oganla 2 so we will see more people join in due time.

So you are gradually building your own clan? Yes, exactly

So what are the benefits to members of this group? Well, let’s see, really I don’t know yet. We are looking forward to seeing it grow bigger; let the heritage come out in full force. I know everybody that comes to Oganla or joins the Oganla family will gain favorably.

So when last did you hear from your friend, Osupa? He is not my friend. I’m older than him. He is my colleague. It’s been a while I heard or saw him.

So you are over 40 now, are you not thinking of marriage? Marriage? (laughs) after I have had my 21- year- old daughter? If marriage comes, I will take it, I have my family already. Marriage is not something I am eager to jump into. I have a daughter who is 21- years old and very promising. My priority now is my house I want to complete it. I’m not dreaming of marriage now. When are you likely to move in? When man proposes, it is only God that can dispose. I thought it would be ready before now. I wanted to do it on my birthday that is, November27th but now from the level of work on the site, it is not going to happen but I’m looking forward to next year’s Easter, so I will move in then

This is obviously not a good time for my favourite actress, Tonto Dikeh and frankly speaking,I pity her. I should pity her for many reasons. One: When she made our cover two months ago with the cover headline, ‘I WANT TB JOSHUA TO TOUCH ME-Tonto Dikeh’the sales figure she pulled following the interview in which she revealed her encounter with the Synagogue Church of Nations’ cleric, Pastor T.B Joshua was stratospheric. In the cover interview, she confessed she watched TB Joshua on TV and during that hour, her well-known vice from teenage- cigarette smoking- tasted poisonous and since then, she has called it quit. Truth is, E24-7 Magazine had unprecedented sales from the edition. I found her faith overwhelming and the legions of TB Joshua’s members considered it an endorsement, especially from someone who has never been to the church. To put it simply, it was a sold out edition. Thank you, Tonto.

Pardon my digression. Two: My pity also goes to her because of her fame. With her fast rising fame and acceptance by fans, that lady must have been lied to by one inconsequential soothsayer and perhaps her handlers or publicists that her fame would hit the roof if she went into the studio and sing. They would have seen her star quality in the international music fame land, dining and wining with Jay Z and Beyonce with Kanye West and Akon as her butlers while D’banj would have been green with envy that despite his Oliver Twist’s tricks, Tonto gets a front row and hobnobs with his lords. They would have told her that with those two singles- Ova and Hi, she would become another Madonna, the goddess of pop and sex. She would have thought yes, this is it, she would have felt supremely self- confident and then put pen to paper to write those songs.

Like her predecessors who can act but cannot sing, the songs from the beginning have an aura of doom.

I think now, Tonto will appreciate the value of silence. She has always been in the news sometimes for bad reasons, rarely for good causes. For someone who has been on an artistic treadmill since her career broke out shortly after she participated in the Next Movie Star, the attendant fame could not make her to keep the negative at bay, it became a nervous addiction. If she’s not in the news for a raunchy role, she’s in it for her ‘millions’ of tattoos. Now time is her enemy.

Yes, she got over five million downloads and that I learnt is unprecedented for any artiste in this clime. She would have wished it was paid for but I know curiosity led many, including me, to download her songs. Few minutes before I did, I had thought one of them would be my caller ringtone and the other my caller’s tune. But by the time I did, I was already Hi and Ova with the songs. Twice, I downloaded, thrice I listened to each of the songs and by the fourth time, I grew out of patience. Tonto flunked it, I concluded.

Three: I pity her if she returned to sin. I will weep if she went back to smoking, her vomit. I will not be happy if she took her failure, pain to make a hit song to her movie location and turns enfant terrible. Truth is, this should not stop you, Tonto. My encounter with you revealed a lady with a lot of inner power, will, and strength that you can do all things. You are creative enough and I’m confident if you shopped for a good producer the best of songs will come out of you. I know Don Jazzy who has not made any statement since D’banj walked away will be glad to have you in his studio. Samklef may get more plaudits at the next Headies Awards if he created another beat for you. I trust with Kas Beat you can still beckon at your ‘boy,’ Wizkid to do a rare collabo. Guess, J Sleek, Fliptyce, May D will be concerned too. I know Clarence Peters and Akin Alabi will be willing to shoot a video MTV BASE will put on rotation for long. I can bet Tonto will sing again. In our lifetime she will make a hit song that will heave the dance floor and top the charts. In our lifetime, Tonto will shine again not just with movies but with music too

Lewd lyrics singer, St. Janet has lost her second pregnancy. The nearly five month’s pregnancy was lost while she was performing on stage at the Sagamu Palace Hotel, Sagamu, Ogun State three months ago. The unfortunate incident which occurred shortly after midnight put an abrupt stop to the well-attended show by 2: 00 AM. However, she was quickly assisted by her husband who was around and other members of the band before she was taken to the hospital for adequate medical attention.
Confirming the incident to E24-7 MAGAZINE, her husband, Kayode Iyun said the lost pregnancy may not be unconnected with their busy itinerary and bookings. ‘
“Yes it’s true. That was some three months ago when we went for a show. We had a lot of shows ahead of us and the pressure was so much. We were moving from one show to another. She has taken her deserved rest.” Just a fortnight ago, there were reports that St. Janet’s husband was having an illicit romance with his step-daughter which invariably led to the crash in their marriage. But Kayode in an interview with E24-7 dismissed the report though acknowledged they had issues which they have since reconciled. The couple is blessed with a baby boy, Orinayo Michael

The founder and CEO of Nigeria `s Next Super Model Joan Okorodudu was 54 last week Wednesday October 24 2012. Joan who spoke with E24-7 Magazine attributed her success to God and the fact that she tries not to worry much. She said, “I am very happy with myself, with what I have done in life so far. If you looked at me at 54 I have no wrinkle; that is to show that I am happy, so I don’t have to do injections and the likes. See, I am a very happy person.” On the forthcoming Nigeria`s Next Super Model competition taking place November, Joan it is going to be better than the previous editions. “It’s going to be massive. Like I told you, I am going to be giving more than one car out. Well I have two cars now, but I am working on the third car and I think this is the year for Next Super Model,”she hinted and continued, “It is bigger; it is very big. I have the biggest cosmetic company as my sponsor, L` Oreal, who are the owners of Dark and Lovely. But for those bad belle people who want to see me go down, they will be eating their hands now. In all, it is all good. I am grateful they did what they did to me. I am grateful to them, because without them doing what they did to me I wouldn’t have the tenacity and the courage to do what I have done so far. For over the years the show has become bigger than any show in Africa. And we are getting bigger and better.”

The English Football Association has launched an investigation after Chelsea accused referee Mark Clattenburg of using “inappropriate language” towards two of their players in Sunday’s defeat by Manchester United.“The FA has begun an investigation relating to allegations made following Sunday’s fixture at Stamford Bridge between Chelsea and Manchester United,” it said on its website on Monday.
Leaders Chelsea made an official complaint against Clattenburg, who sent off two home players — Branislav Ivanovic and Fernando Torres — in the highly-charged 3-2 Stamford Bridge defeat.

The club did not name the players he is alleged to have used inappropriate language towards or of what nature the remarks were, but a spokesman refused to deny that Nigerian Mikel Obi had visited the referee’s room and demanded for an apology after the game. It was learnt that his refusal to apologise to Mikel and Chelsea that made the club to launch official complaint to the FA.

Mikel was booked for dissent during the second half.

It is also believed that the second player is Juan Mata whom the referee allegedly called Spanish t***t.

The club spokesman told reporters, “We have lodged a complaint to the Premier League match delegate with regards to inappropriate language used by the referee and directed at two of our players in two separate incidents.

“The match delegate will pass the complaint to the Football Association. We will make no further comment at this time.”

A highly rated Nigerian referee Gabriel Adigwe who reviewed the incident on SuperSport said specifically on the Fernando Torres incident that Clattenburg error could have happened to many other referees given the way it happened.

“He had a choice to issue a card for simulating or award a free kick. He took the first option based on he perceived from his position even though it turned out to be wrong because replays have proven that there was actually contact,” he said...

The affair is likely to plunge English soccer, which is only just recovering from one damaging scandal surrounding Chelsea after captain John Terry’s ban for racism, straight back into a new crisis involving the European champions.

It was also announced on Monday that FIFA referee Clattenburg would not be officiating at any Premier League matches this weekend.

“Mark Clattenburg is one of the elite referees in world football and, in these circumstances, the intense level of scrutiny would detract from the match and be unfair to the clubs and the supporters of both sides,” said a statement from the Professional Game Match Officials Board, which manages top English referees.

A number of Monday’s British newspapers simply had the headline “Accused” on their back pages.

The Guardian had a banner headline “Ref in Chelsea race row” while the Daily Mail proclaimed “Ref Race Row” although those allegations have not been substantiated.

Chelsea are currently without skipper Terry, who has served two games of a four-match domestic ban for racially abusing Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand last year.

That case has blighted English soccer for a year after the former England player was also ordered to appear in court accused of a racially aggravated public order offence, of which he was acquitted.

The FA, however, using different standards of proof to guide its charge, found him guilty and fined him 220,000 pounds ($354,200) as well as banning him. Terry decided not to appeal.

The Durham-born referee was put in charge of the League Cup final in February and the Olympic final between Brazil and Mexico in August. Clattenburg is one of the FIFA candidates to referee at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Former Premier League official Graham Poll has suggested Chelsea’s complaint could hinge on evidence from Clattenburg’s assistants and the fourth official.

Linesmen Michael McDonough and Simon Long and fourth official Michael Jones may have heard conversations between Clattenburg and the players because all four officials wear microphones and ear pieces that allow them to hear what each other is saying during the game.

“A referee’s microphone is on open. Everything he says is heard by (his or her) assistants,” Poll told BBCRadio 5 live.

“So if Mark said something, the assistants would have heard it.”

Clattenburg, no stranger to controversy, was criticised by Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo for “ruining” the match.

While Ivanovic could have few complaints after accidentally impeding Ashley Young when the winger was through on goal, the decision to show Torres a second yellow for diving sparked outrage on and off the pitch as he appeared to be clipped.

“We must be disappointed that key decisions were wrong,” Di Matteo told reporters.

“At 2-2, we looked like the team that was going to win the game. It was a good game between good teams and the official ruined it. Key decisions have to be right and you don’t want the referees to have such a big influence.

“I think it’s obvious in the eyes of everybody that the second yellow for Fernando was wrong. It was a foul for us and probably he should have booked their player.

“Their winning goal was an offside goal. It’s a shame a game like that had to be decided by officials in that manner. Surely when he sees it, he will realise that he made big mistakes.”

Torres’ Spanish compatriot Juan Mata, who brought Chelsea back into the game at 2-1 with a stunning free kick, said Torres’s dismissal was “incomprehensible”.

“But I prefer to focus on the positives from the game – we competed against a great opponent and responded well to falling behind,” he added.

An investigation is also being carried by the Metropolitan Police into how a Stamford Bridge steward was injured following Hernandez’s winner. Objects were also seen to be thrown on to the pitch from the stands during the fractious match.Despite trailing 2-0 and clawing their way back to 2-2, Sunday’s defeat was Chelsea’s first in the Premier League this season but they remained top of the table on 22 points from their opening nine games – one point clear of Manchester United and champions Manchester City

The list of players that Venezuela plans to use to prosecute the friendly match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria has been released.
The match scheduled for Marlins Park in Miami, USA on November 14, will be used as a tune-up match ahead of the Fifa World Cup qualifiers for Venezuela and by Coach Stephen Keshi to ascertain some fringe players and some that are coming back to form like Obafemi Martins, ahead of January's Africa Cup of Nations.
The list of 22 players will be led by arguably Venezuela’s best ever player, Juan Arango, who plays in the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach.
The team also includes Athletic Bilbao's Fernando Amoerbieta, Rubin Kazan's Salomon Rondon. There is also a return of Cesar Gonzalez
Also the list includes nine uncapped players as Coach Farias bloods new players into the team.
The official list of players expected to represent Nigeria has not been officially released but the likes of Martins, Obinna Nsofor, Kalu Uche and a host of others are likely to get a look in.
Raheem Lawal is another player relishing donning the green and white jersey again. Adana Demirspor’s new midfielder has been out of the equation to sort out his contractual problems with his former Panish club, Atletico Baleares.
“I am happy that I am being considered by Coach Keshi for the match against Venezuela,” Lawal told Goal.com.
He believes he has a place in the national team and sees the friendly match as a very vital one in his national team career.
“I hope to make my mark again in the team as I will like to be part of the Super Eagles for the Nations Cup,” he added.
The home-based players will begin camping this week in Abuja and the foreign contingent is expected to meet up with the caoching crew and the local players in Miami on November 12.
The Nigeria Football Federation is also planning more friendly matches for the team, which will camp in Portugal for the Nations Cup
